Title : School Libraries

Learning outcome : By the end of this course unit the student will be able to demonstrate knowledge and express the role and functions of school libraries. Also, they will learn and apply the techniques of planning and running of school libraries.

Course content :

Role and function of school libraries. School library as a learning and resource center. Role of teacher librarian. Evaluation and selection of reading materials for school libraries. Organization and management of the collection. Information skills of school children. Promotion of reading habit in the school community with special reference to school children Management of school libraries


Method of Teaching and Learning : Lectures, Tutorials and Presentations

Assessment : Written examination, assignments and presentations.
