“ARTHIKAVIDYA” (ECONOMICS) is the annual Academic Journal published by the Economics Students’ Society of the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya. Accordingly, the 12th Volume of “ARTHIKAVIDYA” was launched on the 2nd of February 2018 at the Board Room of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The main objective of this academic journal was to provide the opportunity to publish accurately explored knowledge of the undergraduates and to urge the undergraduates to explore new-fangled knowledge.
The Editor-in-Chief of the academic journal was Dr. Sitha Priyangani Bandara of the Department of Economics while the Assistant Editors were 3 members of the Economics Students’ Society, B.M.S.P. Balasooriya, J.H.M.K.B. Jayapathma and D.M.U.C. Delana.
“ARTHIKAVIDYA” consists of 18 articles based on the Research conducted by the undergraduates who are reading for their (Honours) Degree in Economics such as; Tourism, Rural Economy in Sri Lanka, Recent Foreign Debts of Sri Lanka, Small Businesses, International Labor Migration and Urbanization.
The Journal Launch Ceremony was held under the patronage of Professor A.H.M.H. Abayarathne, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The event was graced by Professor Upali Hettiarachchi, Head of the Department of Economics, academic staff and many undergraduates of the Department of Economics.
