Our Department is one of the oldest Departments in the University of Kelaniya given that it was established in 1959 along with the establishment of the University. Since then, the Department has continued to produce skillful graduates needed to serve public, private and international institutions.The Department of Economics has also produced some well-known economists who have gone on to serve the country as well as international organizations.We welcome learners, scholars and experts from diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds, accept their valuable contribution to academia and help them to fulfil their scholarly endeavors.
