Course Overview
The purpose of this course is to develop an overall understanding of UX/UI design.
Course Content
Introductory Concepts
A general introduction to Human’s Interaction with Computers, Input and Output channels of Humans and their limitations, memory, reasoning, and how emotion affects humans.
Interaction with Computer Systems
Input devices for interactive use, Output display devices for interactive use, Virtual reality systems, and 3D visualization which have special interaction and display devices, Interaction models, Ergonomics, style of the interface, the social and organizational context of interaction. Ubiquitous computing and augmented realities
Usability Paradigms and Design Process
Effective strategies for building interactive systems, time-sharing computers, WIMP and web, ubiquitous and context-aware computing. The design process, getting to know the users and their context, Use of scenarios, designing comprehensible screens and control panels, Complexity of design, Iteration and Prototyping in interaction design, HCI in the Software Process, Usability engineering, Design rules, Evaluation techniques, Universal Design, User support.
Models and Theories
Cognitive models, Socio-organizational issues and stakeholder requirements, Communication and collaboration models, Task analysis, Dialog notations and design, Models of the system, Modeling rich interaction.
