The Department of Sociology at the University of Kelaniya organized a one-day workshop on "Development Planning in Early Sri Lanka" on February 16, 2024, at the Faculty Auditorium. The workshop focused on the course unit "Development Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation," offering valuable insights into historical development practices.
The distinguished guest speaker for the event was Professor Mangala Katugampola from the Department of Archaeology. Professor Katugampola captivated the audience with his profound knowledge of early Sri Lankan civilization, highlighting the meticulous planning and attention to detail in city planning by our ancestors.
The workshop was attended by the Head of the Department of Sociology, Professor Ubesekara Dissanayake, Senior Professor K. Karunathilake, along with staff members, and undergraduate students from the department.
