The Department of Information Technology was newly established as the 13th department under the Faculty of Social Sciences and was gazetted on 06th April 2022.

The foremost objective of the establishment of this department is to enhance the IT skills of the undergraduates who are graduating from the faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences. Accordingly, the new Department of Information Technology will be able to equip undergraduates with key IT skills. It will also be of service to bridge the gap between the labor market requirements, and the skills and competencies possessed by Arts graduates while inculcating an interest and passion for the field of Information technology in them.
