On 05.09.2023, the student's Association of Geography, Department of Geography of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Kelaniya successfully launched it's lecture series "Sansrawanii'23"  to celebrate the upcoming World Environment Day. The inaugural program and the first guest lecture of "Sansrawani'23" held at the Social Sciences Faculty Auditorium, was attended by a lecture hall full of esteemed lecturers and scholars, with the participation of Head of the Department - Geography, Senior Professor Lal Marvin Dharmasiri. The highlight of the event was the two-hour address by Ms NML Radhika, Assistant Director of the Environment Promotion Unit, who spoke about the legal background related to polythene and plastic consumption in Sri Lanka. The event was a testament to the commitment of the university's students' union to celebrate and protect the environment for two hours.
