The Inauguration Ceremony of the 04th batch of Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) offered by the Department of Geography, University of Kelaniya was held on the 17th September, 2023 at the Auditorium, Faculty of Social Sciences.

The event was held under the patronage of Senior Prof. R.K.L.M. Dharmasiri, Head - Department of Geography. Present at the occasion were Prof. A.G. Amarasinghe, Dr. Nishan Sakalasooriya and Senior Lecturer Sampath Arunashantha - Coordinator of the Diploma, Academic Staff Members of the Department and newly Enrolled Students.

Chief Guest was Prof. M.M. Gunathilake, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences.

Keynote Addressed by E.M.A. Bandara, Director Hydrographic Operations, Hydrography Service, Sri Lanka Navy.
