On the 18th of September 2024, the Department of Geography welcomed an eight-member delegation of academic staff from a prestigious college in Pune, India, as part of a foreign exposure program. The delegation engaged in a short interaction program with the department's academic staff, fostering international academic collaboration and exchange.

The event, which took place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in room K 105, provided a platform for insightful discussions on various topics related to geography and higher education. The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. M.M. Gunathilake, Head - department of Geography, Snr. Prof. Mervin Lal Dharmasiri along with several staff members of the Department of Geography, actively participated in the meeting, contributing to a fruitful exchange of ideas.
