The Department of Geography held a welcome party for the first-year students of the Geography and Development Studies (Hons) program on Saturday, September 7, 2024. The event was organized by the second-year (Hons) students as part of a long-standing tradition of welcoming new students into the department.

The Head of the Department, Senior Professor Mervin Lal Dharmasiri, along with staff members, graced the occasion. The department greatly appreciates the dedication, commitment, and thoughtfulness of the senior students in upholding this tradition and fostering a sense of camaraderie.
