The awarding ceremony of the Short Course on Geo-Informatics for Teachers (First Intake) was successfully held on 13 June 2026 at the Faculty of Social Sciences Board Room, University of Kelaniya.
The event was graced by Dr. Oshantha Thalapawila, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was also attended by Professor Nishan Sakalasooriya, Head of the Department of Geography, together with members of the academic staff of the Department.
The programme marked the successful completion of the short course by the participants. A total of *09* teachers received certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the course.
The Department of Geography extends its congratulations to all certificate recipients and appreciates their dedication and commitment to enhancing their knowledge and skills in Geo-Informatics. The Department also acknowledges the contributions of the academic staff and resource persons who supported the successful conduct of the programme.
