Department of Social Statistics, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya held its 5th National Research Conference on Applied Social Statistics (NRCASS) on 3rd of December 2019 at the premises of Faculty of Social Sciences under the conference theme “Quantitative Rsearch in Social Sciences Perspectives”.
Prof. A. H. M. H. Abayarathna, Dean - Faculty of Social Sciences, Senior Lecturer Dr. Manjula Gunarathna, Head - Department of Social Statistics, Prof. N.P.Sunil-Chandra, Chairman - Research Council, Prof. M.G. Kularathne, Director - Research Centre for Faculty of Social Sciences, Staff members of Department of Social Statistics & other departments, undergraduates were present at the occasion. Dr. Hemantha Ekanayake, Additional Director, Statistics Department, Central Bank of Sri Lanka delivered the key note speech of the conference.
The main objective of the event was to promote academic writing and academic presenting among young researchers in Sri Lanka and to provide national level platform for researchers to present their research works to enhance the soft skills.
