Department of Social Statistics, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya held its 1st International Conference on Applied Social Statistics (ICASS) on 5th of December 2019 at the premises of Faculty of Social Sciences under the conference theme “Optimizing on Innovations in Quantitative Research”.
Prof. D. M. Semasinghe, Vice Chancellor - University of Kelaniya, Prof. A. H. M. H. Abayarathna, Dean - Faculty of Social Sciences, Senior Lecturer Dr. Manjula Gunarathna, Head - Department of Social Statistics, Prof. N.P.Sunil-Chandra, Chairman - Research Council, Prof. M.G. Kularathne, Director - Research Centre for Faculty of Social Sciences, Staff members of Department of Social Statistics & other departments, invited chairpersons from other universities, undergraduates were present at the occasion. Prof. Keun Lee, Professor in Economics, Seoul National University, South Korea delivered the key note speech of the conference.
The main objective of the event was to promote academic writing and academic presenting among researchers in the world.
