The 2nd session of joint survey, sport exchange program conducted by University of Kelaniya in collaboration with four Japanese Universities was held on 30th July 2019 at the university premises. A special discussion was carried out between representatives of four Japanese universities and Vice-Chancellor of University of Kelaniya, Prof. D.M Semasinghe at the Vice-Chancellor’s office. Present at the discussion were Prof. Tetsuya Sagawa, Kanazawa University, Prof. Dr. Shohei Kokudo, Kobei University, Prof. Dr. Takahiro Nakano, Nagoya Gakuin University and Prof. Tohru Koiso Chukyo University. Also Prof. Patric Rathnayaka, Dean- Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Neelakshi C. Premawardhana, Director- Centre for International Affairs, Senior Lecture Jayantha Kalansooriya, Head- Department, Sport science & Physical Education, academic staff members, non-academic staff members of the department and few undergraduates from four Japanese Universities were present at the event. As a part of the event a Mini Academic Symposium was held under the patronage of Prof. A.H.M.H Abeyarathna, Dean- Faculty of social sciences. Academic staff members of Department of Sport Science & Physical Education were participated to the Symposium. In addition, two sport sessions were held to introduce sports unique to Japan and Sri Lanka for academic staff and undergraduates.
