head's welcome
With great pleasure, I welcome you to the Department of Sport Science and Physical Education. Sport has long been recognised as a dynamic academic field, with over five decades of development and recognition. Beyond its physical benefits, sport is a versatile tool for personal development, a balanced education, and a means to strengthen societal cohesion.
Sport, in conjunction with recreation, provides scholars with a unique opportunity to uncover valuable insights that contribute to the betterment of society. As a multidisciplinary field, sport and recreation intersect with various branches of social sciences such as Economics, History, Sociology, Psychology and other disciplines such as Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance, and Accounting.
Students pursuing general or honours degrees and diplomas in Sport and Recreation Management can explore related phenomena creatively and analytically, gaining a profound understanding of the dynamic interplay between these disciplines.
Our Department of Sport Science and Physical Education team is committed to excellence in sport and recreation education, research, and management. We work closely with our students, industry partners, and local communities to transform managerial thinking and practices for meaningful social impact.
We firmly believe that "Education is a serious matter, and learning should be a vivid experience for everyone in our community."
Once again, I warmly welcome you to our department and invite you to engage in a rich, healthy educational and research culture.
