Wijayananda Rupasinghe is a Senior Lecturer in Mass Communication, Department of Mass Communication, University of Kelaniya. He started his career as a staff reporter for ATHTHA Newspaper, one of the leading political newspapers in the country. Later he worked as a News Editor of ITN, a state-owned Television station. After finishing his BA in Mass Communication, he joined the university and worked in the field of Communication and Media Studies over the last 20 years. In 2009, he finished his MPhil researching Media Ownership and Partisan of the country. From 2018 to 2021 he worked as the Director of the Communication and Media Unit. His fields of study are Media Policy and Political Communication.
