Samanthika Priyadarshani is a Senior Lecturer in Mass Communication, Department of Mass Communication, University of Kelaniya. She started her career as a Deputy Director at Frames TV and Film Production Service one of the leading Production Houses in the country. She followed one year by a course on Television Production and Technology conducted by the National Youth Council of Sri Lanka in 2003. In 2016 she Followed Training Course (Animation, Computer Games, Virtual Reality) in Sheffield Hallam University in UK. In 2017 she followed Summer Course in Film Appreciation Conducted by National Film Archive of India and Film and Television Institute of India. She has been working as a member of panel of judges in Prominent Film and television award Ceremonies in Sri Lanka such as Srasaviya Film Awards organized by Sarsaviya Newspaper, Lake House, Sri Lanka Youth Cinematic Harvest, Short Film and Documentary Film Festival Organized by Sri Lanka Youth Centre, National Youth Services Council National Youth Television Awards held by National Youth Service Council in Sri Lanka. In 2014 she worked as the Deputy Director of the Communication and Media Unit in the University of Kelaniya. Her field of studies is Film Media, Television Media and Gender and Media.
