
Diploma in International Studies
In order to cater the high demand for International Relations subject area, Department of International Studies of the University of Kelaniya has introduced a Diploma programme. The main objective of this Diploma course is to provide an opportunity for students who were unable to enter the universities and those who are interested in studying international studies.
Learning outcomes
After successful completion of this programme,
- Students will be able to get a proper understanding about International Relations and the theoretical concepts of International Relations.
- Students will get an opportunity to understand the International Politics after WWII, New trends in the International System and changes at the Regional level.
- Students will be able to obtain appropriate knowledge about the Contemporary Issues in International Politics, Civil Conflicts, International Terrorism, Arms Control and will be able to analyze how these concepts can be applied in international relations.
Eligibility Criteria/ Entry Requirements
In order to be eligible for entry to the Diploma programme, students must fulfill the following requirements,
- Three passes in Advanced Level under any stream of study
- Ordinary level passes with not less than 5 years of experience in Government or private sector institution
- Any other qualification accepted by the senate of University of Kelaniya
