Course Content: (Main topics, Sub topics) Introduction to Classification, history and theory; Objectives and uses of Classification, Elements of a Classification Scheme; General and Special Classification Schemes, Enumerative and Faceted Classification Schemes; Knowledge and Library Classification ; General Classification schemes with special reference to DDC; critical study of main classes and tables; and CC, UDC and LC. |
