‘Vikumsihawatha’ exhibition and lecture – Celebrating the 126th birthday of Martin Wickramasinghe at the University of Kelaniya

The Department of Library and Information Science of the University of Kelaniya organised an exhibition and lecture titled ‘Vikumsihawatha’ to celebrate the 126th birthday of Martin Wickramasinghe on the 12th of June 2016 at the Kakulawala Hall. While the introductory lecture was conducted by the administrative secretary of the Martin Wickramasinghe Trust Dayapala Jayanetti, the late Martin Wickramasinghe’s son Dr. Ranga Wickramasinghe was present as the chief guest of the occasion. While a short film titled ‘Vikumsihawatha’ was screened at the occasion, the Head of the Department of Library and Information Science Senior Lecturer Rev. Lagumgedeniya Piyarathana and the academic staff members of the Department, postgraduate, diploma and special and general degree students were present at this event.
