Workshop on Curriculum Development & Stakeholders Meeting of Degree Programs in Library and information Science
A workshop on Curriculum Development & Stakeholders Meeting as an initial stage to syllabus revision from Diploma to Postgraduate level in Library and Information Science organized by the Department of Library and Information Science was held on the 11th of January 2019 at Board Room, Faculty of Social Sciences at the University.
The workshop was held with the objective of examining curriculum models and learning strategies for assessing, creating and restructuring curriculum of General/Special degree program in Library and Information Science to produce expert graduates and professionals required by Libraries and Institutions dealing with Library and Information field.
The main resource persons of the workshop were Dr.C.C Jayasundara, Librarian, University of Kelaniya, Mr.Gunarathna Banda, Former Director of Information Management, NIE, Dr. Kaushalya Yatigammana, Director, NELRC, UoK, Mr.Chandima Gunadasa, Head of Library, IWM, Dr.Nalaka Wickramasinghe, Dr. Ravi Dissanayake, Senior Lecturer,Department of Marketing Management, UoK Mrs. Dilani Munasinghe, Librarian, PGIM , Mr.Nandasiri and professionals from Ministry of Education. In addition, Librarians, Information Experts, Technologists, Research & development and professionals and educationists from both cooperate and government sectors participated in this event.
