A special discussion the minister of Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government

A special discussion was held on 16.09.2020 at the Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government on the current problems in the field of public libraries in Sri Lanka and how to find solutions to them. The senior staff members of the Department of Library and Information Sciences, University of Kelaniya, participated in this discussion with the Hon. Minister Janaka Bandara Thennakoon, Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils and Local Government. He also agreed to provide full support for the island-wide survey of public libraries. In addition, it was decided to organize several rounds of discussions to discuss public library issues.
