LIS Alumni AGM and Get together

Library and Information Science Alumni Association of the Department of Library and Information Science (DLIS), AGM and the Get together held on 27th November 2022 from 9am to 5pm at Royal Paradise Hotel. It was a historic and very significant event to Department of Library and Information Science, University of Kelaniya, The event was graced by the Additional Secretary to the President of Sri Lanka, Mr. Vernon Perera, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya, Prof. M.M. Gunatilaka, Chairman, National Library and Documentation Services Board Prof.Nanda Dharmarathna and its Director General Mr. W. Sunil, President LIS Alumni and Head of Department of Library and Information Science, Prof M.K. Weerasinghe including the teaching staff. A some of Senior Library professionals both retired and working and other librarians, and those passed out from the DLIS securing Diploma and Higher Diploma, ICT Diploma, BA and BA Special, MA and MSSc, MPhil, PhD  took part for the event. The very important opportunity of this event was the submission of a memorandum to President of Sri Lanka through Mr. Vernon Perera the Additional Secretary. This memorandum comprised of the instituting a Presidential Task Force for Libraries in Sri Lanka and the implementation of Teacher Librarians Service Minute.
