Course Aims:

Intended Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the course units students should be able to

i. Use statistics as a tool to collect, analyze and interpret data related to library and information science   

ii.  Apply statistical techniques to specify behavioral and library situations.

Course Content: (Main topics, Sub topics)

Introduction to Statistics, Descriptive Statistics, Probability and Probability Distributions, Introduction to inference, Sampling, Sampling distributions, Estimation, Testing Hypothesis. Relationship between variables – Simple linear regression and correlation, multiple linear regression and correlation.
