Dr. Achala Abeykoon received her Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Deakin University, Australia. She completed her M.Sc. Degree in Development Communication and Extension at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and graduated with a Bachelors Honours Degree at the Trincomalee Campus of Eastern University, Sri Lanka. She has been serving as a lecturer and research supervisor in Communication Studies at number of government and private universities in Sri Lanka since 2008. Her research interests are on communication technologies and development, gender and media, culture and communication, new media and communication.
