Emeritus Professor Rohana Luxman Piyadasa can be considered as a pioneer scholar in the field of Print Media studies. He started his role as a journalist in a very young age and became a very popular investigative journalist in the field of journalism. He obtained his BA and MA in Mass Communication from the University of Kelaniya. He was able to win a scholarship in Moscow State University in Russia and completed his PhD in 1993. He wrote number of publications related to his researches. As well as he had produced series of documentaries and fillers for the television and radio media. He held several administrative positions in the university and he worked as a consultant in several national and international arenas. Emeritus professor Rohana Luxman Piyadasa carried out some pioneer researches in the study of Development Communication and Political Communication in Sri Lanka.
