A scholarly discussion on the film “Walampoori: Seven and Half Dreams”, organized by the first-year undergraduates of the BA (Hons) in Mass Communication Degree Programme offered by the Department of Mass Communication, University of Kelaniya, was successfully held on 07th August 2025 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Lakmal Dharmarathna, Director of the film; Dr. Aruna Lokuliyana and Ms. Samanthika Priyadarshani, Senior Lecturers of the Department of Mass Communication; and Mr. Priyantha Sirikumara and Mr. Anjana Premarathna, actors in the film.
The discussion was moderated by Senior Lecturer Dr. Mangala Keerthi Pasqual of the Department of Mass Communication. Additionally, Senior Lecturer Saman Rajapaksha, Acting Head of the Department of Mass Communication; academic staff members; and students, attended the event.
ජනසන්නිවේදන අධ්‍යයන අංශයේ ජනසන්නිවේදන (ගෞරව )උපාධි පළමු වසර විද්‍යාර්ථීන් විසින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලැබූ "වාලම්පුරි හෙවත් හීන හත හාමාරක්"සිනමාපටය පිළිබඳ විද්වත් කතිකාව 2025 අගෝස්තු 07 වන දා කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය සමාජ විද්‍යාපීඨ ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේ දී පැවැත්විණි .
මේ සඳහා "වාලම්පුරි" චිත්‍රපට අධ්‍යක්ෂක ලක්මාල් ධර්මරත්න,ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කථිකාචාර්ය ආචාර්ය අරුණ ලොකුලියන,ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කථිකාචාර්ය සමන්තිකා ප්‍රියදර්ශනී ,රංගන ශිල්පී ප්‍රියන්ත සිරිකුමාර ,සහ රංගන ශිල්පී අංජන ප්‍රේමරත්න යන අය සහභාගි වූහ.
ජනසන්නිවේදන අධ්‍යයන අංශයේ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කථිකාචාර්ය ආචාර්ය මංගල කීර්තී පැස්කුවල් මහතා විසින් මෙම කතිකාව මෙහයවූ අතර ජනසන්නිවේදන අධ්‍යයන අංශයේ වැඩ බලන අංශාධිපති ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කථිකාචාර්ය සමන් රාජපක්ෂ සහ ආචාර්ය මණ්ඩලය ,විද්‍යාර්ථීන් මේ සඳහා සහභාගී වූහ.
