The Film discussion on the film ‘Alborada’ was held successfully on the 25th of October 2022 at the Social Science Faculty Auditorium, University of Kelaniya.
It was organized by the Department of Mass Communication followed by the 'Alborada’ film screening which happened on 17th October 2022.
Dr. Mahesh Hapugoda, Dr.Nimmi Nalika, Mr.Malcom Machado, Mr.Saman Wickckramarachchi, Mr. Channa Deshapriya (DOP of the film) and Mr. Bimal Dushmantha (Production Designer of the film) were present at the event as discussion panelists. Further, the director of the film Mr. Asoka Handagama joined the discussion through zoom. Senior Lecturer Samanthika Priyadarshani moderated the discussion.
The academic staff and undergraduates of the Department of Mass Communication were present at the discussion.
A trio of documentaries were screened at Dharmaloka Hall on Wednesday, 19th October at 6 pm organized by the second-year students of the Public Relations and Media Management (Hons) Degree, University of Kelaniya. Vishnu Vasu's Amma, Gayaramya Alvis' Unseen Idol, and Ganga Rajini Dissanayake's Rio Paradiso are the three documentaries. Special guests including the Head of the Department and the academic staff of the department of Mass Communication and undergraduates participated in this event. At the end of the film Rio Paradiso, a discussion was held with the participation of its director Mrs. Ganga Rajini Dissanayake.
