Public Relations and Media Management lecturers from the Department of Mass Communication, University of Kelaniya, actively participated in the official inauguration and installation of the first office-bearers of the Public Relations Association of Sri Lanka (PRASL). The event unfolded at Atrium, Cinnamon Grand Colombo, on 16th November 2023.
In attendance were Probationary Lecturer Dasini I Madurasinghe, Temporary Assistant Lecturer Dimuthu Jinasena, Temporary Assistant Lecturer Sathushka Jayawardana, and Temporary Assistant Lecturer Mahesha Withanage, all representing the University of Kelaniya as Associate Members of the newly formed Public Relations Association of Sri Lanka.
Adding prestige to the occasion, Mr. Atul Sharma, the President of the Public Relations Association of India, graced the event as the Guest of Honour. Moreover, numerous PR practitioners from Sri Lanka's public relations industry also participated as professional members of the association. The inaugural meeting concluded with the official launch of the association's website, marking a significant milestone for PRASL.
