Dr. Manoj Jinadasa, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Kelaniya, participated in the China International Communication Conference 2025, held from 4–8 September in Mainland China.
He presented a research paper on “Sri Lankan Soft Power and Cultural Exchange”, focusing on the role of media, culture, and public diplomacy in strengthening Sri Lanka’s international image. His presentation received strong academic engagement, contributing to global discussions on soft power and communication.
During the conference, Dr. Jinadasa engaged with scholars and professionals from Yunnan University, the China International Communication Association, and other Asian institutes, building networks for future collaborations. These include potential joint research projects, academic exchanges, and student workshops.
His participation enhanced the University of Kelaniya’s visibility in global communication studies, while discussions also opened pathways for developing media labs, digital tools, and collaborative platforms for the Department of Mass Communication.
Dr. Jinadasa noted that the conference laid a strong foundation for long-term collaboration between Sri Lanka and China, enriching both academic development and cultural exchange.
