The launch of the research publication “War Reporting and Photo Jounalism” by the Assistant Lecturer, Mr. Gayan Madhushanka of the Department of Mass Communication, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya was held on the 21st of May at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences. This is considered a significant contribution to literature related to subject areas of war, war reporting, conflict reporting, photo journalism.
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Rohana Luxman Piyadasa and the event was also graced by the editor of the “Ada” newspaper, Mr. Kanchana Dissanayake.
Moreover, the event was graced by Prof. A. H. M. H. Abayarathne, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Senior Professor Ariyarathne Athugala, President of the Arts Council, Senior Lecturer Aruna Lokuliyana, Head, Department of Mass Communication, Emeratus Prof. Sunanda Mahendra, Senior Professor Chandrasiri Rajapakshe, staff members of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities, the Proprietor of S. Godage and Brothers PVT LTd and the students.
