The Annual Field Trip of the Department of Archaeology

The annual field trip of the Department of Archaeology was organized with the purpose of facilitating the Bachelor of Arts (Special) Archaeology undergraduates understanding of heritage of ancient Sri Lanka was successfully completed from 07 August to 9th November of 2019. The Field Trip covered eight sites as follows in Eastern province of Sri Lanka: Buduruwagala, Yudaganawa, Nīlagiriseya Monastic Site, Rajagala Monastic Site, Magula Mahā Vihāraya, and Mūdu Mahā Vihāraya, Rabakenwela Tank, Dabana Vadda’s Village in Mahiyanganaya. More than 85 undergraduates of special archaeology degree program, academic staff and non-academic staff of participated in the trip.
